Use your imagination when reading next paragraph:
Imagine your self standing in the kitchen and holding a lemon in your hand. You’ve just taken it from the refrigerator. Feel how cold it is. Look at its outside, its yellow peel. Admire its soft yellow color turning slightly green at both ends. Squeeze it a little bit and feel its firmness and weight. Now bring it closer to your nose and scent it. Nothing in the world scents like a lemon, does it? Now cut it in half and scent it again. The scent is even stronger. Gently bite into lemon and feel its juice spill in your mouth. Nothing tastes like a lemon, does it?
If you really used your imagination, your mouth should be full of saliva now …
Words – only words – influenced your saliva glands. And they didn’t even reflect verity, but only something you were imagining. When reading about lemon you told your brain about the lemon even if you didn’t think about it. Your brain took it completely seriously and commanded your saliva glands: “…cutting lemon…hurry and rinse it.” And saliva glands obeyed.
This is an excellent example of how we can influence our thoughts ourselves. And another proof of how important positive thinking is for gaining positive results.
